We especially welcome papers that deal with such topics as the competitiveness and productivity of entrepreneurship and SMEs, informal entrepreneurship practices, and the contribution of SMEs on the regional level. We also welcome empirical and conceptual papers in various fields of entrepreneurship and small business research, including:

• Gender and entrepreneurship • Social entrepreneurship • The entrepreneurial process and business start-ups • Opportunity identification and creation • Effectuation • Entrepreneurship and job creation • Intentions and cognition • Entrepreneurial education • Institutional frameworks for entrepreneurship and SME’s • Intrapreneurship and innovation management in SME’s • Academic entrepreneurship and spin-offs • SME and Entrepreneurship Policy • High growth SME’s • New venture survival and exit • Habitual and serial entrepreneurs • Methodology and SME/entrepreneurship research • Theory development in entrepreneurship and SME areas

Important dates

Paper Submission of extended abstracts (2 pages): January 15, 2016

Notification of acceptance: February 16, 2016

Submission of full papers: April 21, 2016

Conference fee

Registration fee before April 21, 2016 is 250.00 € for ECSB members and 335.00 € for non-members. After that the fee will be 300.00 € for the ECSB members and 385.00 € for non-members. Doctoral seminar fee is 150.00 Euro.

Doctoral Pre-conference

The Conference offers doctoral students a forum to discuss their research findings and ideas with their peers. On May 18, doctoral students are invited to present research proposals to a group of experienced researchers. The number of participating doctoral students is limited to 16. Students will be selected by drawing on short abstracts (not to exceed 2 pages), where their research problem is presented.
