Connect with a vibrant hub of exchange, learning, collaboration and discussion by preparing a session proposal for GBSN Beyond 2021. GBSN’s innovative approach to what a virtual conference can be hopes to create an engaging community that will collectively explore multi-sector collaboration in development.
GBSN Beyond convenes over 2,500+ participants from over 50+ countries including from academia, industry, government and civil society. Utilizing a versatile events platform -- filled with engaging, distinctive experiences, content and opportunities -- GBSN Beyond is a premier forum to connect with diverse perspectives.
GBSN seeks sessions across 4 overarching themes - humanitarian logistics, climate change, healthcare and human rights - and 4 conference prompts - cross-disciplinary collaboration, sustainable and ethical leadership, technology and big data and the tools of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Possible session formats include:
- Keynote addresses (Individual ted-style talks, 20 mins with 20 min Q&A)
- Stakeholder dialogues (Deep-dive dialogues, panel must include two different stakeholders, 45 mins)
- Skill-up (Individual learning and development sessions, 40 mins)
- Bite-sized innovations (Short talks from a non-academic perspective, 7-10 mins)
- Firestarters (Provocative, subject-drive moderated dialogues, 30 mins)
- PechaKucha/ignite (“Talk less, show more” style presentations, 8 mins)
GBSN is open to other session formats not listed.
Proposals are required to be submitted through the online form. Submissions must include proposed session title, preferred format, content overview, additional resources, audience engagement element and contact information.
Applicants may submit more than one proposal, but only one can be selected for inclusion on the conference agenda. GBSN Membership is not a requirement for a proposal submission but priority consideration is given to proposals that include faculty or staff from a GBSN member school.
Speakers whose proposals are chosen, the institution to which you are part of will register for GBSN Beyond. GBSN does not pay speakers.
