OSI HESP invites applications for Junior and Senior Fellowships of the Central Asia and Caucasus Research and Training Initiative (CARTI) for 2013 - 2015.
CARTI offers support to junior academics - PhD students and early post-doctoral scholars - in the post-soviet countries of South Caucasus and Central Asia, and in Afghanistan and Mongolia. CARTI Fellows receive support and training in developing critical and innovative scholarly agendas, mastering and practicing original approaches and tools for academic research in the social sciences and humanities and engaging in regional and international scholarly collaborations on subjects of importance for the academic and social development in the region.
Please assist us in disseminating the information about the CARTI Fellowships among potentially interested and qualified young scholars, and encourage your colleagues in the region who are currently working on or have recently obtained their first doctoral degrees and who would benefit from such long-term academic support and collaboration to apply. Below is a brief introduction to the program, and attached are a full Call for Applications and a Guide for Applicants. Further details on the eligibility, format and priorities of the program, the nature of the supported projects, description of the awards and application guidelines are available at http://www.soros.org/grants/central-asia-and-caucasus-research-and-training-initiative.
The application deadline is 1 November 2012.
