IMTA Research and Publishing Module 2011

The Research and Publishing module's objective is to improve participants' reasearch skills and contribute to the development of relevant research material that can be effectively applied in the classroom.

The Research and Publishing Module Is also structured in three parts:

  •  3 days of preparatory seminar: 31 January - 2 February 2011, IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia
  • field research and writing with individual distance coaching: February-June 2011
  • 2 days of concluding workshop: 20-21 June 2011, IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia

The 3-day preparatory seminar includes: guidelines for defining a relevant research issue; research design and appropriate research methodology; research execution and field work; transferring research results effectively to the classroom; small group critiques of participants' research proposals; and individual mentoring from faculty advisors.

During the seven-month field work and research drafting period, participants carry out field and related research, write research papers, develop proposals on how to integrate their research results into new, research-based, educational material, and submit draft research papers and related educational material to their faculty coaches for review and feedback. Based on faculty feedback, participants refine the outcome of their research effort and develop the respective research-based educational material.

The 2-day concluding workshop includes: presentation of research results in small groups; peer and faculty critique; guidelines on getting research published; individual mentoring; and presentation to peers and faculty of selected research projects ready for publication.

Candidates interested in the Research and Publishing Module are invited to submit their applications, which should include:

  • a research proposal which, in addition to methodological and publishing targets, includes a description of how the expected research results will be converted into new educational material and practice
  • a letter from the participant's institution confirming its interest in the proposed research and readiness to support it
  • a CV, including a list of any prior publications

Based on the quality of the proposals submitted, short-listed candidates will be interviewed by telephone, and the Admission Committee will select up to 25 participants per module.

The fees per module are:

  • € 1,500 for CEEMAN institutional members
  • € 2,700 for exchange and individual members
  • € 3,000 for non-members
