Kozminski University has earned initial accreditation for its business program by recent action of the Board of Directors of AACSB International —The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Kozminski University joins an elite group of institutions that have achieved business accreditation from AACSB International. Only 633 schools of business, or less than 5% worldwide, have earned this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.
“We warmly congratulate Kozminski University and its rector, Professor Andrzej K. Kozminski, and welcome them into the AACSB family of internationally accredited business schools,” said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International. “AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution and its college of business. The rector, faculty, directors and administrative staff of Kozminski University are to be commended for their dedication and commitment to continuous improvement, and for their role in earning initial accreditation.”
To achieve accreditation, an institution’s business program must undergo a meticulous internal review and evaluation process. During this period, the school must develop and implement a mission-driven plan to satisfy 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.
During the accreditation process, Kozminski University was visited and evaluated by business school deans and corporate representatives with detailed knowledge of management education, applying accreditation standards that are widely accepted in the educational community.
Upon earning AACSB, Kozminski University has become one of only 53 business schools worldwide that have been awarded the three most important business schools accreditations: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Business schools belonging to “the triple accreditation” group usually attract many international students and pay a lot of attention to exporting their services overseas.
Kozminski University shares this focus: currently international students account for 33 pct of the entire student body, and the University aims at reaching a 50 pct share of international students.
Kozminski University also runs a full program of studies in English, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies in the fields of management, and finance and accounting. The curricula are fully compatible with classes, lectures and workshops conducted at the University in Polish. Kozminski University is bilingual when to comes to administration, staff, campus signage, and documentation.
“We are proud of the international diversity of the Kozminski University student body. Altogether we have students from 42 nations—ranging from our neighbors from Eastern and Central Europe, students from Asia, United Arab Emirates and Western Europe, to Canada and Latin America,” said Professor Andrzej K. Kozminski, rector of the University. “During the admissions process we take into account the applicants’ background in order to expose our students to a multitude of cultures, and earning AACSB Accreditation should help us to continue to grow this important level of diversity.” Congratulations on the success of Kozminski University have been sent to its rector by Professor Edward Prescott of Arizona State University, winner of Nobel Prize in Economics 2004, member of ALK International Advisory Business Council.
