On the 21 June 2011 in the State University of Management was elected a new rector, Ph.D. of law, Prof. Viktor Kozbanenko. We congratulate him on this occasion and publish the main directions of the strategy of the University’s development in following years.
Today the State University of Management with all his glorioustraditions is one of the leading Universities of the country in the area of management. In modern conditions the main task has to be the establishment of the State University of Management on the Russian and International educational field as a leading managerial university of a new type, combining main components of a traditional classical university with fundamental and applied research, implementing innovation technologies in the interests of social and economic development of the country. Securing the continuity and stability of the personnel potential of the GUU’s team, multiplication of the corporative values and creative atmosphere are the fundamental precondition and essence of the dynamic processes of University’s development in a nearest perspective.
Our guidelines should be: in the short term - acquiring SUM status of a national research university in the long run –for the 100th anniversary of SUM - statement of the University as the leader of management education of international level. Our plans must include ambitious but achievable goals and objectives, as well as a clear mechanism for their implementation, which will involve the entire staff of SUM. Creation and implementation of development programs in SUM - it is up to each indifferent to the fate of the University.
The inevitable entry of Russia into the WTO and the OECD involves the formation of new public spaces in which our country will participate. One of them is a common educational and research environment. The need of better integration of the University into the world educational process, optimizing the training of all categories of students, is directly related to this issue, taking into account the achievements of world science, the widespread introduction of innovative educational technologies to ensure the competitiveness of graduates on the international job market.
It is necessary to continue an active occurrence of the University into the international academic community by expanding the joint long-term educational and research projects, the intensification of exchanges of students and teachers, more organic exchange of ideas and ways of bachelor's and master's degrees, increasing the number of educational programs implemented in cooperation with leading foreign universities in management education issuance of diplomas to graduates of foreign universities and SUM. In practice this would mean that all teachers and researchers should seek to participate in international educational and scientific programs and projects, the results should be in demand in basic and applied science, implemented in practice.
To enhance academic mobility of students, teachers and researchers in the field of international relations to strengthen cooperation with leading universities worldwide, and other educational and research centers, international educational organizations. Each institution should develop a program of foreign training of teachers and students, backed by adequate funding from extra budgetary resources.
Development of international relations at the University focused on the development of common approaches to management education in the CIS, EurAsEC, SCO, BRICS, etc. This will increase the number of foreign nationals studying in the SUM on a fee basis, paying particular attention to preparing for higher levels of education - a master's and graduate student at attracting students from not only our neighbor but also abroad. An important task is to export educational services.
