We are kindly inviting you and your colleagues to participate in a global survey under the sponsorship of PRME, CEEMAN, and the UN Global Compact Office on “The Issue of Poverty in Management Education. Challenges. Opportunities. Solutions.”
Poverty issues are becoming increasingly important in times when we all are rethinking the role of business in society and, therefore, the role of management education in embedding social responsibility and sustainable development in the mindsets of future leaders. Poverty eradication is closely related to achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals.
Following the PRME Secretariat’s request, the PRME Working Group on Poverty, with support from EQUAL, has been asked to develop a report that identifies the challenges and opportunities that deans, administrators and faculty members around the world face/develop and the solutions they develop as they attempt to include the issue of poverty into business school curricula, modules, programs and courses. The survey, whose link is below, will provide data for this report.

Since the survey’s intent is to include dean, administrator and faculty member views, we would appreciate very much if you could also forward this message to your colleagues to encourage their participation. The survey will take 15 minutes to complete and was designed by Al Rosenbloom, Dominican University, USA; Carole Parkes, Aston Business School, UK; and Milenko Gudić, IMTA Managing Director, CEEMAN, Slovenia.
The Report on Fighting Poverty through Management Education: Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions, with final survey results, will be presented at the 3rd Global Forum for Responsible Management Education on 28-29 May 2012 in Rio de Janeiro in conjunction with the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and distributed through major international management development associations. Results will also provide input for the future work of the PRME Working Group on Poverty.
