USB hosts international EFMD Africa conference

The University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) hosted the international business school community in Cape Town for the EFMD Africa Conference on 1-3 November.

The topic of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) conference is The Business School in Africa as an Agent for Sustainable Business and Social and Economic Development.

Directors and deans of business schools, leaders in business and the public service, and consultants from around the world attended this conference.

The USB was the first business school in Africa to receive EQUIS accreditation, awarded by EFMD in 2000. The EQUIS accreditation process assesses business schools as a whole - their programmes, internationalisation activities, research, executive education provision, corporate connections and community outreach. This accreditation was renewed most recently in 2007.
