European University continues to be a proud supporter and donator to the Yirwal community project as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies. Mrs. Anne Rosat, who coordinates the project locally, has informed us that local women are doing much better and have just started ordering cereal grains for the next season.
New mills constructed in the village earlier this year and sponsored by European University, have allowed women to be financially independent and manage their own budget. The women of Yirwal are also planning for a peanut mill to be built, as they aspire to make peanut dough for their personal usage, as well as selling it at the local market.
An instructor has recently visited the village to teach them how to make soap from shea seeds, which they will also be able to sell at the market. European University would like to thank Mrs. Rosat for leading this project with such integrity and for her regular progress updates.
European University is committed to promoting CSR through its business education programs worldwide and most importantly stresses the precedence of CSR to its students. Both European University’s BBA and MBA programs in Communications & Public Relations include a course on Ethics in Business, which is concerned with issues related to the CSR framework. They provide knowledge and insight that positively contribute to improved performance and professional success, while preparing students for CSR challenges and opportunities they will face during their careers.
