Małgorzata Karaś from the Warsaw School of Economics won the title of 2011 Primus Inter Pares - Best Student in the Republic of Poland in the competition's 42nd edition. In October 2011, Małgorzata, whose MA major is Finance and Accounting, came in first both in the regional stage of the competition as well as in the "economy” category of the Primus Expert trade competition. Primus Inter Pares has been organised since mid-1960s. Candidates reviewed for the title are evaluated not only on the basis of their academic achievements, but also their social engagement. The trade section of Primus Inter Pares competion – known as Primus Expert – is meant to honor students with special aptitude for the profession they had chosen and for those who are developing their professional interests. The Primus Expert title is awarded in thirteen categories, indluding medicine, law, the arts, sports, economy, engineering, journalism, IT, environmentalism, pedagogy, history, linguistics and public relations.
The Polish Students' Organisation is the main organiser of the competition.
