CEEMAN joins PRME Steering Committee

On 22 January 2010 CEEMAN was invited to join the Steering Committee of the UN Global Compact initiative on the Principles of Rresponsible Management Education (PRME). This was also a formal recognition of the CEEMAN's contribution to the noble mission of the initiative ever since it was launched at the UN Global Compact Leaders' Summit in Geneva, Switzerland in July 2007. CEEMAN member institutions were among the first management development institutions in the world which joined this global initiative by adopting the principles of responsible management education.

The PRME Steering Committee is composed by leaders of major international, regional, and specialized associations and institutions: AACSB, Aspen Institute, AMBA, CEEMAN, CLADEA, EABIS, EFMD, GRLI, Net Impact, UN Global Compact.

In the next meeting of the Steering Committee, which is scheduled for 22 June 2010 in New York before the UN Global Compact Leaders' Summit (24-25 June), CEEMAN will present its past, current and future activities related to PRME, which all stem from CEEMAN value platform that has always strongly advocated business education and leadership development for a better world.

CEEMAN will actively participate in the Global Forum for Responsible Management education, which will be held on 23 June 2010 at Fordham University, Lincoln Center Campus, New York, USA and in the related fair on "Supporting the Progress of Business Schools towards Sustainability", where CEEMAN will present the preliminary results on its new survey on curriculum changes in business education to support the fight against poverty (currently under development). This will also be the opportunity to establish agenda for the future work in the PRME Working Group on Fighting Poverty under the leadership of CEEMAN.

At the same occasion CEEMAN will also present the results of the Challenge:Future global student competition on innovation and sustainability, particularly those related to the challenge "Business + Education = Sustainable Value".
