IMTA 2010 successully concludes in Bled on June 18

On 18 June 2010 the 11th edition of the CEEMAN International Management Teachers Academy (IMTA) successfully ended in Bled, Slovenia.

Thirty seven management teachers from 25 institutions in 14 countries (Albania, Austria, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia and Switzerland) have attended this major European faculty development program held from June 6-18 at the Alpine lake Bled, organized by CEEMAN management development association and hosted by the IEDC-Bled School of Management. With this generation, the total number of IMTA Alumni increased to 384 faculty from 120 business schools, universities, and other management development institutions from 33 countries from all over the world.

The program, run by internationally renowned professors from the best business schools around the world, is intended to develop "a new generation of management educators for the new generation of business leaders". It enables the participants to improve their skills related to general aspects of teaching (educational methods - especially the use of case method in management education, teaching philosophy and strategy, course design, case research and writing skills) and their competencies and skills in specific managerial disciplines (strategy, finance, leadership, and strategy). They also receive inputs related to other aspects of their profession such as consulting, administration and institution building, and social responsibility of faculty. Through IMTA Alumni Association, established in 2006, CEEMAN and IMTA keep supporting professional and institutional development of IMTA alumni and their schools also after the program.

CEEMAN has recently launched two additional IMTA modules on educational material development, aimed at building case writing and research capabilities, while at the same time producing world class educational material through coaching support from leading experts in the field. The first part of IMTA Case Writing Module was held on 31 May-2 June 2010. After six moth of field work supported by individual coaching, 17 participants from 14 institutions in 12 countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, and United Kingdom) will finalize their case studies in February 2011. IMTA Research and Publishing Module will start in February and end in June 2011.
