On April 24, 2019 the University of Latvia (LU) and the Riga Technical University (RTU), in cooperation with the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), launched a new interdisciplinary program of excellence, which will be coordinated by the RTU Riga Business School (RBS).

The new Baltic IT Leadership Bachelor Program Computer Science and Organizational Technologies will be the first interdisciplinary ICT program in English in Northern Europe.

The new program covers the core subjects required for any computer science (CS) program, provides students with a broad choice of electives in CS and of non-CS disciplines, for example, natural sciences, social sciences, as well as arts and humanities. It offers students a choice of specializing in either specific CS subdisciplines or in management or finance. The students will have a choice of studying the entire program in Riga or spending a year or more in the UB to earn a double-degree from Riga and the UB.

This is a unique opportunity for young people to become highly qualified IT leaders in the nearest future. Students with excellent learning achievements and/or insufficient financial support will be eligible for scholarships. The enrollment started on May 20, 2019.

A joint IT education platform The Baltic IT Society or BITS will help to raise the network of IT professionals, promote BITL program globally and atract students.
