Thirty-six program managers and directors from 24 institutions in 14 countries (Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom) attended the seminar and contributed to an inspiring and productive work and a very special spirit of professional understanding and personal friendship.

With this cohort, the reach of this unique program, which the Financial Times described as “the program for infantry that wins the war”, expanded to cover 250 program management directors, coordinators and managers from 100 business schools and universities from 40 countries.

The growing interest in the Program Management Seminar comes from increasing awareness that for achieving competitiveness in business education industry, both content and process are equally important. The program management function plays an important role in this. It deals with a number of important issues, including understanding target markets, delivering outstanding customer service, managing the performance of program staff, dealing with participants and faculty, alumni relations, and related issues. It also contributes to understanding how to effectively respond to continuously changing customer needs while simultaneously taking care of institution’s own needs.

The 2014 Program Management Seminar was run by a prominent international faculty including Mike Page (Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Bentley University, USA), Dianne Bevelander (Associate Dean of MBA Programs, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Netherlands), Drikus Kriek (Director, Leadership Development Centre, University of the Witwatersrand, Wits Business School, South Africa), Daniel Szpiro (Dean of Executive Education and an academic leader at the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University, Canada), Danica Purg (President of CEEMAN and of IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia), Nenad Filipović (Academic Director, IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia) and Milenko Gudić (Managing Director IMTA, CEEMAN, Serbia/Slovenia). An important amount of learning takes place also through participants sharing experience and best practices related to key challenges they face in their respective institutions.

The next edition of the Program Management Seminar will take place in spring 2015 in Bled, Slovenia and welcomes applications!
