You are kindly invited to read the latest update on CEEMAN events and activities from our President Danica Purg.

Dear Friends,

I hope you are doing fine and keep a positive spirit.

I was impressed and touched to read stories from our members of their successful transformation to online teaching in record short times, about care for the students, staff and faculty, about innovative approaches and initiatives to keep providing accessible and relevant management education and support despite the lockdowns. We look forward to receiving more insights, experiences and reflections on the actual situation also in the following weeks and months, and helping to make voices of our members heard.

In CEEMAN Office, we were also successful in adjusting to the circumstances by working from our homes, keeping in touch with members, and offering new useful resources in the form of CEEMAN Know-How webinars and online expert discussions. IQA-International Quality Accreditation activities are going forward with a number of schools in different stages of accreditation procedure, including online. The work on the Hidden Champions book, an impressive joint project with partners from 22 countries (mostly from CEE, as well as a comparison with China and Mongolia), is approaching its conclusion and the manuscript will be submitted to Springer in June for publishing. The Erasmus+ ISSUE partnership project, focusing on developing innovative teaching tools and resources for sustainability in higher education, is moving forward as well. And I hope you don’t miss a new exciting opportunity to publish on the topic of responsible management education through CEEMAN/Emerald Open Research Collection (deadline in April).

In terms of upcoming programs and events, we are dedicated to providing the best experience and service to our members, and, being mindful of schools’ schedules becoming increasingly overcrowded for the second half of the year, have therefore decided the following:

  • Program Management Seminar is rescheduled for August 26-28 to take place online. You are invited to send applications!
  • IMTA-International Management Teachers Academy will take place in June 2021 while in the meantime webinars and online events with IMTA faculty will be offered
  • Leading the Way in Management Development Workshop for deans and their teams is open for applications for November 2020, and we are also prepared to offer it online (please contact our team if you are interested in this option)
  • EdTech seminar is being considered for autumn, including possibility of running some of its content online

CEEMAN/Emerald Case Writing Competition (early submission deadline this Sunday) and CEEMAN Champion Awards (deadline in June) welcome submissions and nominations as planned.

For this year, we plan to have an online conference on 23-25 September. We kindly invite you to be with us for insightful keynotes and interactive discussions on the topic of Implications of the Current Crisis and Opportunities for Management Education, as well as the CEEMAN Annual Meeting and poster session for faculty and researchers. More information will follow! 29th CEEMAN Annual Conference events will take place in Trieste, Italy in September 2021 to discuss the topic Science and Management: An Alliance to Solve Global Challenges.

I would be glad to hear from you on the above and to know how you are. Together with the CEEMAN team, we are sending you warmest Spring greetings from Slovenia!

Yours,
Danica
