Since 1945, thousands of people have been gathering every summer at the European Forum Alpbach in Austria to develop new perspectives for tomorrow’s Europe. Experts from science, politics, economics, culture and civil society join forces to address current challenges of our society. Smart minds from around the world join in the charming Alpine village Alpbach, immersing themselves in an environment bursting with novel ideas, new ways of thinking and opportunities for making great contacts.
This year, the theme of European Forum Alpbach focuses on the »Fundamentals« through investigating our society´s basic convictions in consideration of the current situation. With the Alpbach scholarship programme, young people aged between 18 to 30 can attend this leading interdisciplinary conference and a variety of academic and artistic seminars. In addition they can participate in inspiring side programmes and activities and broaden their horizont through creating an international network. In 2019 over 650 scholarship holders from almost 100 countries took part in the European Forum Alpbach. A basic scholarship covers the participation fee to all events at the European Forum Alpbach. Most applications are granted a full scholarship, where also accommodation and daily allowances are covered.
