CEEMAN provides its members with support to their case writing activities, fostering the development of high-level case material.
CEEMAN has launched Case Writing Module as part of its IMTA Educational Materials Development Program. The program, heavily based on individual mentoring, aims to improve case writing skills of faculty, and will as a result produce a collection of high quality case material, ready to use in the classroom.
In May 2006, three IMTA alumni - Mislav Ante Omazić (2000), Asta Pundziene, and Zoran Ćirović (2004) - took part in a two-day joint seminar with the European Case Clearing House (ECCH) on "Developing case studies for executive education", held at the Cologne campus of ESMT - European School of Management and Technology, Germany. The workshop, led by Jamie Anderson, senior lecturer in strategy and innovation at ESMT, attracted 15 participants from eight countries with different teaching and research backgrounds, leading to a highly interactive and cross-cultural classroom experience. After a brief theoretical introduction to the difference between case study development for executive education and other programs, the process of case writing was analyzed using highly successful case studies as samples (from Madonna and Telmore to MLP AG, Nokia and British Airways).
Following participation of Prof Milenko Gudic in the 22nd International World Association for Case Method Research and Application (WACRA) Annual Conference, held in July 2006 in Brno, Czech Republic, more than 20 WACRA members from 13 countries (Argentina, Canada, Czech Republic, Cuba, Finland, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the US) have expressed interest in acting as a source of expertise, coaching, and mentoring for case writing by faculty members of CEEMAN member institutions.
Berlin Meeting on Developing Case Writing Agenda for CEE and Russia was held at ESMT-European School of Management and Technology in Berlin in April 2005
CEEMAN Case Writing Competitions are taking place annually since 1995. The case writers are not only competing for the money prize and free attendance of the CEEMAN Annual Conference, but also have an opportunity to have their cases published with Emerald Publishing Limited, the sponsor of the competition since 2007.
