CEEMAN Annual Conferences

ceeman_conferenceCEEMAN Annual Conference is the central event of the association, held each year in a different country in cooperation with a local member institution. Annual Conferences are organized around topics of particular relevance to management and leadership development in dynamically changing environments.

Each conference features a high-profile keynote speaker, including in the past: Charles Handy, Chan Kim, David Maister, Nancy Adler, Ichak Adizes and others. See the list of previous CEEMAN Annual Conferences, including videos and proceedings.

20th CEEMAN Annual Conference
24-29 September 2012, South Africa

In two decades of dedicated work in the field of management education, CEEMAN decided to explore the new frontiers in South Africa - a rising star and economic powerhouse of Africa. With its diversity of nature, cultures, languages, and traditions, facing challenges and opportunities stemming from their massive economic and social transformation, the “rainbow nation” represents an inspiring destination.

The 20th CEEMAN Annual Conference consists of several interconnected events:

24-25 September, Johannesburg:

26-29 September, Bellville, Cape Town:

  • CEEMAN Annual Meeting, 26 September
  • CEEMAN Deans and Directors Meeting “Management Development Institution Building in Emerging Economies”, 27 September
  • 20th CEEMAN Annual Conference “Business and Educational Challenges in Dynamically Changing Environments”, 27-28 September
  • Sightseeing tour, 29 September

All events in Cape Town will be hosted by the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB).

john_powellI'm glad to see CEEMAN having an influence way outside its original area of concern. There are huge similarities between Central Europe, Southern Africa, India and South America, as well as strong learning potential in all of these regions. I am genuinely excited that CEEMAN has been stepping up to a role of representing business schools from the developing world. There is no other organization that does that on a world basis.
Prof John Powell, Director of USB, SA
