IQA principles

IQAIn a dynamic and interdependent world, the need for high-quality leaders and managers continues to grow. A major task for management education is to develop people who can address the challenges of a constantly changing environment and do it in a responsible and ethical manner. Given the wide diversity of surrounding economic conditions, it is necessary for management education institutions to deepen their understanding of their specific contexts and needs. Using originality, creativity, innovation, and knowledge they can help provide solutions to address these conditions. To do this and to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of all their stakeholders, the institutions need to seek excellence in their offerings and to pursue continuous improvement in their processes.

To assist management education institutions in fulfilling their critical role, IQA operates according to the following principles:

General principles

  • The general mission of management education is to provide the business community with managers and leaders capable of coping ethically with the challenges of a constantly changing environment
  • Management education institutions should seek for excellence in quality and continuous improvements in order to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of their stakeholders
  • Management education institutions are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the specific context and needs, celebrate diversity, and foster originality, creativity, innovation, and responsibility

Accreditation principles

  • The international quality accreditation introduces international criteria and standards related to all aspects of business schools' performance applying them against the institution's mission in its specific local context
  • The review process that includes self-assessment and international peer evaluation assures and recognizes that the performance of accredited schools is consistent with their mission statements and objectives and with the requirements and standards of CEEMAN IQA
  • The accreditation process also provides guidelines, new perspectives, and support services for continuous improvement and innovativeness in educational programs and business schools' overall performance
