The 28th CEEMAN Annual Conference, with the title Science and Management: An Alliance to Solve Global Challenges, will take place from 23-25 September 2020 in Trieste, Italy.

Beautiful and cultured, Trieste is Italy’s most cosmopolitan city. The destiny of Trieste has always been linked to its unique geographical position between the Mediterranean Sea, the Balkans and the Central Europe. The city maintains echoes of the glorious Roman, Medieval and especially Habsburg past, which made it “the little Vienna on the sea”. In its characteristic mixture of languages, peoples, religions and architectures, one easily feels its combined Central European and Mediterranean souls. Famous for its literary and cultural tradition, Trieste has acquired international prestige for the excellence of its Science System, thanks to 30+ Research Institutions ranked among the most important in Europe. Not surprisingly, Trieste has been chosen as the European City of Science 2020.

CEEMAN Annual Conference traditionally includes a series of events in order to get to know the business, political and social realities of the host country (including through company visits, experiential workshops, keynote business panels), and to discuss implications, best practices and collaboration in the area of management development (business education keynotes, international panels, roundtable discussions and workshops). Several side events are also organized, such as pre-conference sessions, individual Dean2Dean advisory meetings, CEEMAN’s IQA-International Quality Accreditation session, CEEMAN Annual Meeting, and CEEMAN Awards Ceremony.

The conference will be organized in cooperation with MIB Trieste School of Management, an international Business School founded in 1988 as a non-profit Consortium, on the initiative of high profile companies and the academia. With its large choice of Master’s degrees (accredited in Italy and abroad) and of Executive and Corporate Programs, the School trains young talents from all over the world, qualifies and updates managers, entrepreneurs and executives from both local and multinational companies. Leading firms (among which Allianz, Generali, illycaffè, KPMG, E&Y, Fincantieri, AON, BNP Paribas) actively collaborate with the School for sponsorships, internship activities, training, consultancy projects and research. Enhance talent, develop skills, strengthen leadership to make people and businesses grow: with this attitude MIB Trieste has been working for over 30 years in Italy and in the world.

MIB Trieste is located at Ferdinandeo Palace, one of the most prestigious historic buildings in Trieste. The building is equipped with a special entrance for people with reduced mobility. All floors can be reached by elevator and all spaces are accessible. The School offers to students and guests a parking lot near the main entrance (20 spots) and a large parking area behind the building, with space for up to 100 cars.

GETTING TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE

Between 23-25 September there will be daily buses arranged for free transfer between downtown Trieste and the conference venue (MIB Trieste School of Management) in the morning and evening.

On other times, you can get to MIB by taxi or public bus. To get to MIB by public bus, take LINE 11 from Piazza Goldoni to the end of the line (Ferdinandeo Palace, where the school is located) or take bus 25 from Piazza Oberdan towards Cattinara hospital and get off at the Ferdinandeo stop.

ARRIVING BY PLANE

Trieste International Airport is located 35km from Trieste and is connected by:

  • Taxi: fixed rate Airport-Downtown Triste and vice-versa, 35-40 minutes (60 EUR)
  • Train: from Trieste Airport to Trieste Central, 30 minutes (from 3.3 EUR Treno Regionale to 15 EUR Frecciarossa)
  • Science Bus: Sharing Shuttle service, 45 minutes (20 EUR)
  • Bus APT: Bus number E 51, 55 minutes (4.15 EUR)
