The 73 edition of CEEMAN News features an interview with Prof. Vladimir Nanut, the Founder and Dean of MIB School of Management, Italy, on the importance of development of case writing and other relevant educational materials; brief report on the 2014 IMTA – International Management Teachers Academy, reveals 2014 CEEMAN Champion Award nominations and the shortlisted cases of the 20th Case Study Competition, as well as updates from CEEMAN member.

The publication contains conference notes and papers from the international conference on Leveraging Innovative and Cross-Country Learning for Poverty Reduction: Climbing the Economic Ladder – Examples from and for Nicaragua, co-organized by the PRME Anti-poverty Working Group and INCAE on 28-30 July 2014 in Managua, Nicaragua.

The new book “Innovation Ethics. The objective of this paper was to analyse the emerging scope of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the successor development instrument to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which are scheduled to end by 2015. The top priorities of the stakeholders involved in the processes include poverty eradication, water sanitation, energy, economic growth, green growth, governance, and employment. Current trends appear to favour a progression of the shaping and negotiation process which goes beyond the established MDG goal.

The first of two books to be produced by the PRME Working Group on Poverty in cooperation with Greenleaf Publishing, Socially Responsive Organizations and The Challenge of Poverty (published in July 2014) aims to provide both researchers and practitioners with the most wide-ranging coverage yet published on how business can be a positive force in alleviating poverty and how management education needs to adapt to this increasingly crucial prerogative.

Baltic Management Institute recently began publishing BMI Knowledge executive briefs. The texts summarise new business research from BMI‘s international network of management educators and analysis of business trends. The first three issues of BMI Knowledge address corporate alliances, young firm internationalisation and the European strategy of China‘s biggest telecommunications firm.

EU Business School recently published the second issue of their new ON magazine, which focuses on Women in Business. In addition to features on the main theme, there is also information on EU Business School news; events; alumni; interviews; and student-written material, as well as several opinion pieces from EU Business School faculty.

The 2013 PRME Summit – 5th Annual Assembly titled “New Ways of Developing Leaders for the Future We Want” was held in Bled, Slovenia, on 25-26 September, 2013 and gathered more than 300 participants from 60 countries.

The 21st CEEMAN Annual Conference titled “Business Schools as Responsible Change Agents: From Transition to Transformation” was held in Bled, Slovenia, on 26-27 September, 2013 and gathered more than 190 participants from 46 countries.
