Call for Partners in the Field of Lifelong Career Guidance to Participate in TEMPUS VI (6th call) Joint Project for Higher Education and Society

Information Systems Management Institute, Riga, Latvia is searching a European partner that is an expert in lifelong career guidance and can transfer the innovations to participate in TEMPUS VI (6th call) Joint Project for Higher Education and Society.

Deadline March 26th 2013.

Project title Career management skills development and promotion of entrepreneurial capacity in universities of Russia.

Project idea

To modernize existing units responsible for students’ career guidance into Lifelong Career Guidance Centers (LCGC) to enhance accessibility and efficiency by means of keeping units’ positive inherited experience, learning from other PC universities experience, and transforming innovative ideas and experience from EU countries.

Project Specific Objectives are:

1) To modernize existing units in PC universities into effectively managed and promoted  Lifelong Career Guidance Centers (LCGC) and thus improve the university-social partners cooperation

2) To establish a network to promote cooperation between the PC universities as well as other universities of the same region of the Russian Federation, employers and social partners in career education improvement;

3) To facilitate an active dialogue between universities and society to widen access to career topics through establishment of a database and relevant tools;
4) To encourage links between higher education institutions and the labour market, including the promotion of entrepreneurship and creation the support for business start-ups, graduate students, as well as unemployed people by encouraging them to acquire Lifelong Career  Management Skills

Project principal outcomes and outputs

  • Modernized Lifelong Career Guidance Centers at each PC universities
  • Guideline for LCGCs structure, tools and typical activities
  • Training materials for LCGC staff
  • Retrained LCGCSs staff with international and national certificate

Lead to 1st  specific objective

  • National Lifelong Career Guidance Network (NLCG Net) promoting cooperation between the partner universities and social partners
  • Network site filled by appropriate information
  • Common information space for LCGN experience sharing and consulting

Lead to 2nd specific objective

  • Tools for identifying qualifications and competencies required by the labour market (for graduates, alumni and employers)
    Tools for collecting statistical data on graduates and alumni.
  • Joint database of employers, employees, unemployed people, graduating students of university and schools

      Lead to 3rd specific objective

  • Methodology for lifelong career  management skills development to support in managing non-linear career pathways to increase employability and promote social equity and inclusion
  • Student’s career development portfolio

Lead to 4th specific objective     

What is expected from the partners within the Tempus consortia:

  • to be an expert in career guidance at European level
  • to have capacity to transfer innovation in this field
  • to participate in the elaboration of optimal model of Career Guidance Center
  • to be involved in the development of training materials for LCGC staff
  • to retrain LCGC staff
  • to provide experts for Quality Assurance and quality control
  • to be involved in other project activities
