Call for Papers: 10th annual World Economy Research Institute Conference at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH)

The World Economy Research Institute at the Warsaw School of Economics is pleased to announce its 10th Annual Conference devoted to economics of competitiveness and innovation.

The conference aims at stimulating the discussion between international researchers conducting related empirical and theoretical analysis, while focusing on policy implications seen in recent research. Topics of interest are: theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions from all areas of the economics of innovation and competitiveness.

We invite papers related to the following topics:

  • new approaches to innovations and their role in the process of building competitive advantage of countries, regions and enterprises;
  • innovations in the public sector and their impact on competitiveness of countries and regions;
  • open innovations and their implementation in practice;
  • innovations in green technologies and their role as tools for improving competitiveness;
  • innovation policy at different levels: national, regional, local.

PAPER SUBMISSION: Authors are invited to submit abstracts electronically (up to 250 words in MS Word or PDF format) to weri@sgh.waw.pl. Submissions should contain: the title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), address(es), telephone(s), fax number(s) and e-mail address(es).
Selected papers, accepted for the conference, will be considered for publication in the “International Journal of Transitions and Innovation Systems”. It should be noted that this journal has specific peer-review procedures and the highest standards and thematic relevance need to be followed in order to pass peer-review.

DEADLINES: The deadline for abstract submissions is March 31, 2015. Notifications on acceptance will be sent to the authors by April 10, 2015. Participants presenting a paper during the conference are asked to submit their full papers by May 31, 2015.
