AlmaU meets 19 students from the USA and three faculty members from Lehigh University

AlmaU welcomes 19 students from the US and Lehigh University tutors through mobility and collaborative research programs, joint activities will take place on the AlmaU campus for two weeks.

On May 23, the opening and presentation of joint student projects began as part of a long-term partnership between two universities, Lehigh University and AlmaU.

It is planned to carry out practical work on 4 joint projects:

1. Air Pollution - this project will be aimed at measuring air quality, disseminating information about the dangers of polluted air to the residents of Almaty. And also for the assembly and sale of inexpensive air filters for Almaty residents.

2. Save TUBA is an application for elementary students that teaches children to take care of the environment and animals through play dynamics. Need help with translation into Kazakh and Russian languages and distribution of this application to schools in Almaty.

3. Food insecurity - solving food problems in the city of Almaty, interviews with migrants and visitors from other cities of Kazakhstan.

4. Research Capacity Building / Central Asian Researchers Network - we need master's and PhD students, as well as young scientists and teachers to conduct interviews and make video clips 5-8 minutes. Creation of a community of young scientists and popularization of research on the SDGs.
