Kimyo International University in Tashkent hosted the International Conference "Managerial Education for Sustainable Development of Central Asia"

On June 6, 2023, the International Conference "Managerial Education for the Sustainable Development of Central Asia" was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.The organizers were Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT), International Association for the Development of Management in Dynamic Communities (CEEMAN) and Almaty Management University (AlmaU).

The international conference brought together 80 participants from 5 countries - experts from academic and business circles, representatives of government agencies, media and international organizations.

During the Conference, J. Kudaibergenov, Rector of Kimyo International University in Tashkent delivered a welcoming speech, D. Purg*, President of CEEMAN** with a report on the topic “Current trends in management education”, A. Dlyanchev, CEO and founder, Unique Media Holding , Uzbekistan, with a report on the topic "The view of business on management education", Sh. Pulatov, representative of the UN Global Compact in Uzbekistan with a report on the topic "The role of universities and business in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals". The conference was moderated by A. Kaumenova, Vice-Rector for Global Partnerships of AlmaU and Chairman of the Eurasian Unit of UN PRME***.

In addition, a discussion was held on the topic "Challenges of management education in the Central Asian region", where the participants exchanged their views and answered questions from the audience. The moderator was Khusan Mamasaidov, founder of MFaktor, Uzbekistan.

The main speakers of the discussion were:

  • Kozhakhmetov, President and founder of Almaty Management University
  • J. Kudaibergenov, Rector of Kimyo International University in Tashkent
  • Yusupov, CEO of TEAM University
  • O. Jumaniyazov, Head of the International Office of the Tashkent State University of Economics
  • F. Niyazov, Senior Project Manager and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Kimyo International University in Tashkent

The conference discussed the problems and trends facing management education. The conference emphasized the importance of management education for the sustainable development of the Central Asian region.

It was proposed to continue the dialogue at the CEEMAN International Conference, which will be held on September 20-22, 2023 at the AlmaU site in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

* Prof. Danica Purg is President of the IEC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia, and President of CEEMAN, the International Association for the Development of Management in Dynamic Societies. Professor Danica Purg is Professor of Leadership and Effective Management at the IDC-Bled School of Management. She has authored and co-authored several books and numerous articles on leadership issues. Her research focuses on finding inspiration for managers in the arts and other professions.

She holds three Doctor Honoris Causa titles and two honorary professorships and is a frequent speaker at universities around the world and at international conferences. From December 2019 to June 2020, Professor Danica Purg served as Acting Chairman of the PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Steering Committee and successfully completed the task of transforming PRME.
