On December 17, 2019 presentation of the results of the study “Mediation in business” was held at KROK Business School. The study gained a global scale since it was supported by national organizations such as European Business Association, Ukrainian Woman Lawyers Association "YurFem", the blog-magazine Lucky Ukraine, as well as international partners the Centre for Mediation and Negotiation (Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek), “Parasat” Center for Mediation and Law (Kazakhstan). More than 350 responses were received from individuals living in Europe, USA, Middle East.
Victoria Polishchuk, researcher, BSK faculty member and PhD student, presented the results of the study that lasted over 6 months. The study focused on the following issues:
- who in business is most aware of mediation;
- what conflict situations are most often encountered in commercial disputes, and what are their reasons;
- what the number of companies spend on resolving commercial disputes;
- how much the dispute resolution process satisfies business owners with the help of the court,
- how many people trust in alternative methods of dispute resolution.
The study allowed to compare the awareness of mediation in Ukraine and other countries whose respondents participated in the study.
