The International Office organized a campus tour for the guests, introducing the university's history in an interactive museum and showcasing the new Tatishev Wing, named in honor of AlmaU's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Erkin Tatishev. The meeting at AlmaU was attended by President A.B. Kozhakhmetov, Rector G.T. Kurenkeyeva, Vice-Rector for Science Commercialization K.D. White, Vice-Rector for Science B.K. Sarkeyev, Director of the International Cooperation Office N. Kiyash, as well as the Head of the Center for Sustainable Development and ESG at AlmaU, A. Nurgaliev.
During the presentation, Ms. Friberg-Storey gained a closer understanding of AlmaU, its strategic goals and mission, achievements, and development plans. A. Nurgaliev additionally shared information about SDG Legion, a student organization actively supporting and implementing the ideas of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Within this community, socially significant projects and research have been successfully implemented. In 2023, SDG Legion was honored with the second-place award among the best teams at the PRME Student Organization Awards in New York.
