CEEMAN Conference Proceedings

The 31st CEEMAN Annual Conference, titled "Leadership for a Sustainable World," took place at Almaty Management University (AlmaU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from September 20 to 22, 2023. The proceedings of the conference encapsulate the rich discussions and insights from this prestigious event. Attracting approximately 120 attendees from various nations, the conference emphasized the importance of sustainable leadership in rapidly evolving societies.

The 30th CEEMAN Annual conference took place on 21-23 September 2022 in Bled, Slovenia at the headquarters of CEEMAN and IEDC-Bled School of Management. The event entitled "The Future of Management Education: Understanding the Big Picture" boasted a host of engaging panels, discussions and, among other things, a unique AI performance in which the arts meet the CEEMAN members' vision for the future.

It is a pleasure to share with you proceedings of the 2021 poster session within the 29th CEEMAN Annual Conference in Trieste, Italy. Taking place for the first time in hybrid format – with some of the authors being with us in person in Trieste and others joining online from different corners of the world – it was a truly fascinating and inclusive experience.

The 29th CEEMAN Annual conference took place on 22-24 September 2021 in beautiful Trieste, Italy as well as online. It discussed the topic of Management Education at the Crossroads and altogether hosted more than 150 participants from 30 countries around the world.

The 28th CEEMAN Annual conference took place on 23-25 September 2020 in an online format. The big CEEMAN family gathered in order to search for Ideas and Inspiration for Management Development from Fields Beyond Management, the topic of this year's event. The conference took place on an award-winning MiTeam virtual collaboration and learning platform and over the course of three days hosted more than 150 participants from 36 countries around the world.

It is a pleasure to share proceedings from the 2020 poster session, which took place within the 28th CEEMAN Annual Conference events.

The 27th CEEMAN Annual Conference took place in Wroclaw, Poland on 25-27 September 2019, co-organized with the Wroclaw University of Economics, an important center of education, science and research in Poland.

The 26th CEEMAN Annual Conference took place on 19-21 September 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. The event, bearing the title "Redefining Management Education: Excellence and Relevance”, was hosted and co-organized by University of New York in Prague.

25th CEEMAN Annual Conference took place from 20-22 September 2017 in Hangzhou, China. The event, focusing on the topic of "Rethinking Entrepreneurship – Challenges for Management Education in Rising Economies", was hosted and co-organized by School of Management, Zhejiang University.

CEEMAN’s 24th Annual Conference “Management Education for a Digital World” was held from 28-30 September 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia, hosted and co-organized with Tallinn School of Economics and Business Administration (TSEBA).

CEEMAN’s 23rd Annual Conference “Localization vs. Globalization of Management Development in Dynamic Societies” was held on 23-26 September 2015 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, hosted and co-organized with Almaty Management University, and gathered over 150 participants from 36 countries.

We invite you to read the proceedings of the 22nd CEEMAN Annual Conference, When, Why and How is Technology Reshaping Management Education?, and of the Deans and Directors Meeting, Leveraging Education, Marketing, and Internal Processes with Technology. Contributions of 28 speakers and conference participants provide an interesting insight on different viewpoints of the conference topics and questions that are highly relevant nowadays.

The 21st CEEMAN Annual Conference titled “Business Schools as Responsible Change Agents: From Transition to Transformation” was held in Bled, Slovenia, on 26-27 September, 2013 and gathered more than 190 participants from 46 countries.

CEEMAN’s 20th Annual Conference “Business and Educational Challenges in Dynamically Changing Environments” was held on 26-28 September 2012 in Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa, hosted and co-organized by University of Stellenbosch Business School, and gathered over 100 participants from 32 countries.

CEEMAN’s 19th Annual Conference “Management Education in a Changing World: Are We Ready for the Challenge?” was held on 21-24 September 2011 in Tbilisi, Georgia, hosted by Caucasus University, Caucasus Business School, and gathered 130 participants from 32 countries.

CEEMAN’s 18h Annual Conference “New Global Performance Challenges: Implications for Management Development” was held on 23-25 September 2010 in Caserta, Italy, hosted by Coca-Cola HBC Italia. Over 150 participants from 36 countries gathered to discuss how to achieve and sustain competitiveness while contributing to sustainable development and socially responsible leadership.

CEEMAN’s 17th Annual Conference was held on 24-26 September 2009 in Riga, Latvia, hosted by Riga School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA). It was attended by 130 participants from 30 countries, discussing the theme of the conference was “Local Responses to Global Crisis”.

CEEMAN’s 16th Annual Conference “Management Education for the Realities of Emerging Markets” was held on 25-27 September 2008 in Tirana, Albania, hosted by Albanian Center for Management Services, Tirana in cooperation with Albania Experience, AVIS Rent-a-Car, and POLIS University. More than 100 participants from 27 countries gathered to discuss what kind of management education is needed to support the emerging markets in their efforts to achieve and sustain competitive advantage in the globalizing world economy.
