The European Marketing Academy (EMAC), established in 1975, is a professional society for people involved and interested in marketing theory and research. 6th EMAC Regional Conference 2015 is taking place in Vienna, Austria in September and will deal with "Convergence and Divergence in the New Europe: Marketing Challenges and Issues".

The history of the EMAC Regional Conference begins in 2007 at the University of Maribor, Slovenia, where marketing researchers from former Yugoslavia and CEE decided to launch the MTC conference series on marketing issues characteristic for emerging markets. Given its growth and success in 2010 the MTC conference was embraced by the European Academy of Marketing and since then has continued with support of EMAC under a new title: EMAC Regional Conference – Marketing Theory Challenges in Emerging Markets. The 6th EMAC Regional Conference in Vienna is the first one in a non-transitional country. Its location in Central Europe, Austria’s close historical-cultural ties to the region and the role of Vienna as a business hub for CEE make it a natural choice.
