The concept of business education emerged in the economic environment of liberal capitalism and Anglo-Saxon cultural traditions, but the expansion of business education in the world leads to the plurality of business schools' (BSs) strategies. Observed trends require theoretical explanation, especially in the context of emerging markets, as the number of BSs grows rapidly in these countries. It is becoming important to identify the types of emerging markets BSs strategic behaviour, evolution thereof and impact on BSs success in terms of growth, sustainability and recognition.

Research group from Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) is looking at how BSs in emerging markets may be positioned in the space of two dimensions, which trace back to two classical social sciences dichotomies: exploration / exploitation and universalism / particularism. A simple questionnaire is used to position BSs in this space: https://ru.surveymonkey.com/r/LZWQGN3

About 20 schools already contributed to this research and demonstrated substantial variety in their strategic postures. The research group is going to share results among all participating institutions. If your school joins, you will get the opportunity to benchmark your school against peers and to better understand path to success in your region and in your school category.
