Building on professor Adam Grant's research on prosocial behavior (Grant, 2013), job crafting and
meaningful work (Berg et al., 2010; Grant, 2007), task significance and prosocial impact (Grant,
2008), and contemporary work design theories(Grant & Parker, 2009), this thematic issue explores
how contemporary workplaces foster human flourishing through generosity, intergenerational
exchange, and technology-enabled connection. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into
everyday work practices raises significant issues of trust, distrust, and ethical concerns (Bankins,
2021), prompting the development of various frameworks to guide responsible adoption (Ashok et
al., 2022; Bankins et al., 2024). Distrust often stems from perceived threats to jobs, privacy, and
fairness (Bankins & Formosa, 2023), while trust is linked to transparency, accountability, and ethical
management (Ashok et al., 2022)
