A theory, however, is only as strong as its application. If it does not have any impact in practice, it will eventually disappear from scientific discourse. For this reason, our special issue turns the attention to the added value of systemic and cybernetic approaches for organizational operations. We invite submissions that show how management, education, engineering, or any other domain in which formal modes of systems are relevant, benefit from theory in daily practice.

This year’s Global Ethics Forum will bring together leaders, changemakers, and community voices from across sectors, cultures and generations to explore how power is used, who makes decisions—and how we can do better, together. 8th Responsible Management Education Research Conference on Poverty and Prosperity: Implications for Advancing the SDGs, 2030 Agenda and Responsible Management Education in a Post-Pandemic World invites contributions (submission deadline 31 May).

Xuanwei Cao, Associate Professor in Strategic Management and Sustainability at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China, and member of the PRME Anti-Poverty Working Group, is conducting first-ever research on understanding Chinese management professors’ and Chinese students’ views on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and poverty alleviation. These surveys extend earlier research conducted by the PRME Anti-Poverty Working Group in 2017 and 2018, respectively.

GBSN Beyond involves a set of three parallel tracks culminating in a virtual event, November 9-13. The parallel track experiences are designed to engage Students, Faculty, and Administrators at institutions of learning and partner organizations in a core experience accompanied by sessions, professional development workshops, networking sessions scheduled in the month of October. The core experience of the Faculty Track is the Faculty Simulation Lab.

This year’s GBSN Annual Conference’s theme is Beyond Business and Borders. The conference will convene global leaders in academia, government, and industry to collectively explore the critical role of business and entrepreneurship education in our global future. Calling all social scientists! Emerald Publishing funding the APCs on research related to the societal impact of coronavirus. A publishing fund of £20,000 on Emerald Open Research was launched on 16 March 2020.

The Slovenian Academy of Management, together with partner insitutions, is announcing its 6th International Conference on Management and Organization. The event is taking place on 11-12 June 2020 in Bled, Slovenia. Submission dealine of extended abstracts: 1 March 2020. CEEMAN is supporting the event with CEEMAN/IMTA Best paper award for junior scholars. Winner will be announced in April. Winner will receive tuition fee waiver for attending IMTA (International Management Teachers Academy) in 2020 or 2021.
