II Narxoz International week

The II International week will bring together leading scientists, experts, politics, academics, diplomats, business communities, as well as undergraduate, graduate students to discuss and debate on the current transformation processes and the need for people to adopt sustainability in economic, social and technological aspects. The programme will be multidisciplinary with a focus on recent changes in the multidimensional world, that link research and practice in Central Asia.

The II International Week will be in collaboration with Cambridge Central Asian Forum, Jesus College, University of Cambridge and Russian Association of Business Education.

Our specific goals are:
-        to provide an international space for researchers and students working on and in the region to exchange ideas and information on critical issues of Central Asian sustainability;
-        to engage key  stakeholders  throughout  the world  in  the  development  of  and participation  throughout  the  programme,  especially  those  most  engaged in Central Asia region, its  educational processes, research and innovation;
-        to promote Central Asian culture and ideas, development of nations and shaping individuals;
-        to engage students in research world and show opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge.

The Week consists of Cambridge Central Asian Forum: “Developing the Sustainability Mindset: the Central Asian way” on 10-14 April, 2017 and International Forum RABE in Kazakhstan “Big Data – a new topic in education” on April 13, 2017.

  • Cambridge Central Asian Forum “Developing the Sustainability Mindset: the Central Asian way”

Main themes:

1.       Sustainability of research and innovation
2.       Multilateralism in Central Asia
3.       Social Underpinning of sustainability

  • International Forum RABE in Kazakhstan «Big Data – a new topic in education» , April 13, 2017

Target audience: RABE members, national and international faculty, corporate representatives, national and international students

The theme of the RABE event is Data Science and how to manage Big Data in the 21st century. 

The event focuses on:

  • How to apply Data Science in higher educational institutions - with Narxoz University as a case study
  • How to build mutually beneficial partnerships between universities and companies in Big Data and Data Science
  • How to prepare graduates in Data Science within programmes of universities.

Working language is English/Russian.

The registration is available till March 31, 2017. The deadline for submitting lecture/speech materials is March 20, 2017. The selected articles will be published in a special issue of the journal «Central Asia Economic Review».
