The opening seminar was attended by Simon Williams who was cultural attaché at the British Embassy and director of the British Council in Kazakhstan; John Traxler who was the first and unique professor of Mobile Learning, University of Wolverhampton. Also 20 experts, 7 of which young researchers from British Universities who had PhD degree and 12 of which were Kazakhstan scientists participated in this seminar.
Simon Williams admitted that seminar was a bright example of successful cooperation between UK and Kazakhstan academia, and that such events were moving forward Kazakh-British relations and enabled Kazakhstan scientists to develop their knowledge and skills, and as for the British, it gave a better understanding of Kazakhstan education system: "This seminar is one of the key aspects in the internationalization of research and academic partnerships. ALMA University is one of the most advanced and in fact one of the first who raised the issue of mobile learning and promotes it in Kazakhstan."
It should be admitted that British Council is very selective choosing the Educational partners; it’s known that they had only one or two partners among Universities in Kazakhstan. Now ALMA University is one of them.
