Almaty Management University (AlmaU) had won the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) award for Significant impact at the regional level. Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) awards were delivered during the 19th Annual BMDA Conference on the 8th of October.

During the conference, the award for AlmaU was presented by the President of the Baltic Association for Management Development Virginijus Kundrotas. In turn, AlmaU President Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, receiving the award, noted the high role and significance of this award for the University.

The Significant Impact Award is a kind of international recognition of the significant impact of Almay and the achievements of the Graduate School of Business Almaty Management University (GSB) in the field of management development and business education in the region. Receiving the award right before the 25th anniversary of the MBA programs is an important indicator of AlmaU's success.

GSB became the first business school in Central Asia to be awarded this award. This is especially valuable because BMDA unites more than 70 educational institutions and organizations from 27 countries of the world, focusing in its activities on improving the development of management and the quality of relevant programs.

“We are proud to receive this outstanding award. This is international recognition of AlmaU’s model of educational framework. We stand for responsible and impactful education and activities. We believe that in the twenty-first century the universities should give not only professions, but they should also make an impact on the city, society, country, depending on the goals and level of development of the university. We are happy that BMDA is in the trend of recognizing and implementing impact. As an impactful university, we strongly support BMDA as an impactful association that is going to lead this trend. The BMDA award recognition is very timely. This year Graduate School of Business is celebrating twenty-five years of MBA programs. Graduate School of Business has the largest MBA and DBA cohort in Kazakhstan” – Dr. Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, AlmaU Founder and President.
