Bialystok University of Technology has joined the European University for Cross-Border Knowledge Sharing (ACROSS), an alliance of 10 universities working to strengthen education and research in cross-border regions. The project promotes mobility, integration, quality, innovation, and European values across key thematic areas.

Bialystok University of Technology has joined the European University for Cross-Border Knowledge Sharing (ACROSS), an alliance of ten European universities committed to transforming education and research in cross-border regions. Across focuses on four key areas:  

  • education in cross-border regions,  

  • culture, identity, and heritage,  

  • socio-economic development,  

  • and natural resource management.  

These thematic pillars guide joint activities designed to address shared challenges and support sustainable regional growth. The alliance actively engages with regional stakeholders and industry, which connect universities, businesses, and local communities to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer. In addition, Across organises numerous international events, such as hackathons, Open Science initiatives, and European University activities, fostering collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and the exchange of ideas among participants from across Europe. 

As a partner in the alliance, Bialystok University of Technology contributes to the development of a long-term strategy for education and the promotion of European values. The project seeks to enhance mobility among students, academic staff, and researchers, while improving the quality, integration, and competitiveness of European higher education systems. By joining Across, Bialystok University of Technology strengthens its international engagement and actively supports the creation of a more connected, innovative, and inclusive European Higher Education Area. 

The ACROSS alliance brings together the following partner universities: Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany, alliance leader), University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Angel Kanchev University of Ruse (Bulgaria), University of Perpignan Via Domitia (France), University of Girona (Spain), Bialystok University of Technology (Poland), University of Craiova (Romania), University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), and University of Udine (Italy). The associated partner is Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine).
