Montpellier Business School (MBS), founded in 1897 is one of the oldest Schools of Management in Europe. In 2021 MBS trains 3,700 students in its initial and continuing education programs, from bachelor’s to Doctorate.

MBS - whose recognition of academic excellence is evidenced by triple accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA - was built on two pillars: Academic quality and an unwavering commitment to its values: ethics, openness and diversity, global responsibility and performance. The implementation of these values is recognised by strict labels: ESSPIG, Diversity, Professional Equality, United Nations Compact, Global Compact, LGBT. Thus, our students come from all classes of society and from nearly 80 countries.

MBS is distinguished by the conviction that diversity is a wealth and strength for society as well as for companies. And by the conviction that the lasting success of companies depends on the consideration of its economic, societal and environmental performance.

"Our membership in CEEMAN is based on the desire to further develop international cooperation, the internationalization of the student body, the Faculty and our researchers. It confirms our openness to all continents and our specific will to develop our partnerships in Central Europe. MBS intends to be an active, dedicated and attractive partner within CEEMAN and thus confirms its willingness to welcome new students, new partner companies and partner Business Schools."

We believe too that the biggest challenge for companies will be the sustainable, responsible and eco-responsible transformation of their strategy. This is why the themes of CSR and sustainable development are at the heart of our research activities and are taught transversally in all our programs, in line with our mission: “to train, through higher education programmes, managers who are strengthened by their diversity, aware of their global responsibility in carrying out their missions and able to adapt to changes in local, national and international environments”. To fulfill its mission MBS has developed a full array of programmes of excellence: Bachelor of International Business Administration, Programme Grande Ecole, Masters of Science, Executive MBA, DBA, Doctorates, Executive education.

Our research areas are defined in relation to our values on the one hand and articulated in such a way as to support all the disciplinary fields involved in our programs. Our permanent professors-researchers are affiliated to the MRM laboratory (Montpellier Recherche en Management, University of Montpellier). MBS's professors-researchers are also part of the LabEx Entreprendre. MBS is strong with its 9 research groups, namely: Entrepreneurship entry mode and survival, Business survival and growth, Inter-organisational and interpersonal relations in the SMEs context, Health, entrepreneurship and psychological markers, Entrepreneurial economics, Accounting for sustainability and innovation, Design, creative thinking and innovation, Values, organizations, actors and resilience (VOAR), Health & Innovation for Society.

Furthermore five chairs illustrate the internationalization of research and teaching in the following fields: Social & Sustainable Finance (Social & Sustainable Finance Chair), Social Entrepreneurship & Inclusion (Social Entrepreneurship & Inclusion Chair), Economy and management of air transport and aerospace (Pégase Chair), Inclusive management & societal engagement (Inclusive management & societal engagement (MIND) Chair), Communication and organizing for sustainability transformation (Communication and organizing for sustainability transformation (COAST) Chair). Based on the activities of the Social & Finance Chair and the Social Entrepreneurship & Inclusion Chair, MBS launched the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Financial Inclusion in October 2019.

In the framework of its teaching and research, MBS maintains close relations with leading universities throughout the world, as illustrated by the list of institutional partnerships which can be consulted on our website. In order to further deepen its international cooperation and to open it up to the world, MBS has joined CLADEA (for 30 years), GBSN, AAPBS, AABS, CEEMAN and has taken steps to join BMDA, RABE, ANGRAD, PRME.

Special mention should be made of entrepreneurship at MBS. At MBS entrepreneurship is present in all programs. MBS also has an incubator-school that accompanies all students and alumni entrepreneurs.

MBS also supports companies of all sizes and professionals in their training projects. Strongly attached to humanist values and convinced that lifelong learning is a state of mind, MBS accompanies employees, managers and executives towards agility and innovation, by placing the human being at the heart of the organization. MBS accompanies companies and their employees, intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs, as well as any person in professional transition.

To meet your specific challenges and needs, MBS offers a wide range of training courses and programs both in France and internationally.
