September 27, 2025, KROK University Business School hosted the scientific and practical conference “Leadership, Business Processes, and a Sustainable Future.” The event brought together over 50 participants, including students, academics, and business representatives, highlighting the growing synergy between research, education, and practice in management and business disciplines.
A total of 18 research abstracts were presented, covering a wide range of topics – from modern leadership and business process management to innovation implementation, mediation, and conflict management transformation. Special focus was given to interactive discussion sessions exploring current and future challenges in leadership, sustainability, and organizational transformation:
- In the section “Communication and Leadership for the Future,” participants examined what leadership skills are needed in an era of constant change, how the digital economy transforms management systems across sectors, and how communication evolves between government, society, and business.
- In the section “Innovative Business Approaches and Sustainable Development,” participants explored how innovation and sustainability intersect in modern business. Presenters shared practical cases of process optimization in industries such as e-commerce, accounting, and light manufacturing. The discussion highlighted lean management tools as a means of improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall performance. Participants also analyzed innovative trends in the creative industries and retail — from customer experience in film production to food-tech and food retail transformations during wartime — emphasizing the adaptability and resilience of Ukrainian business.
- In the section “Mediation and Conflict Management,” participants focused on non-violent communication — particularly in intercultural contexts — the impact of emotional intelligence on conflict management, models of alternative dispute resolution, and current trends in the development of mediation practices across Europe.
The conference served as an important international platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, reinforcing Ukraine’s active participation in the global business education community. It also initiated new research and partnership projects aimed at developing innovative and sustainable practices in business and management.
By combining academic rigor with practical insights, the event demonstrated how science and education drive progress in leadership and management, shaping a more resilient and forward-looking business ecosystem — both in Ukraine and worldwide.
