Continue on the road to oneself despite the storms of life

  • Covid-19
I listen to the pulse of life in my own family, in the immediate environment, in my country and in the whole world. It is certainly unsettling - first, and foremost, due to the uncertainty that is plaguing the majority of the people on our planet who have been gripped by the unpredictable aftermath of a terrible virus. I am rethinking and trying to develop a system of personal perception of what is happening and of adequate conscious actions.

The changes that the coronavirus threat brings to our lives do not always and immediately become clear and understandable. We are shocked, frightened, and then return to our former existence. Our brain is still tuned into a world that has already remained in the past. But in fact, we will never be the same again.

The realization that change is essentially the norm of humanity's existence and development becomes a turning point for the formation of resilience and counteraction to this predicament. As Mark Aurelius points out, we have power over our minds, but not over events. When we understand this, we are gaining ground. The main thing in the dramatic situation that the coronavirus brings to us, is to overcome the instinctive reaction of "stopping and hoping that everything will go away by itself", make the right decisions and act: carefully, consistently and persistently. As Herodotus says, “People who decide to act are usually accompanied by luck; on the contrary, it is rarely found in people who are only concerned with weighing and procrastinating.”

We are on an unsteady ground that we were not fully prepared for, but we must be able to withstand it without fear of being shaken by the storms of life. Do not be afraid to kneel or even fall. Nevertheless, it is obligatory to ascend and go on the life path further, on the road to oneself and to the Most High. To do this, we need to be aware of the impact of the force and direction of the wind, not to be afraid of thunder and lightning. After all, after a thunderstorm, the air is clean and fresh, it allows you to breathe with your full chest, harness your willpower and send it to continue the journey with renewed vigor. I hope that after overcoming the effects of the pandemic, through a concerted effort, we will evolve: become wiser, stronger and more virtuous. We will be able to re-emerge at a new, higher stage of our own development and become more aware of our responsibility for the preservation of our planet.
