Emerald is delighted to continue its partnership with CEEMAN for the Case Writing Competition. The 26th CEEMAN/Emerald case writing competition invites submissions relevant for the realities of dynamic and emerging economies. With a 1st place prize of €2,500 and cash payments for 2 runners up, Emerald has a cases update and multiple author resources available to those wanting to submit.

The Emerald Cases Hub

The Emerald Cases Hub is a free online resource for case writers that contains modules on each of step of how to write and develop a case study and teaching notes.
We have recently launched new modules on 'How to teach with case studies'; we have incorporated information, guidance and examples of the issues most affecting faculty using cases including: enabling students to contribute, dealing with challenging classroom scenarios and ensuring everyone gets a chance to contribute.

The Cases Learning Hub is accessible to all – register here.

Competitions

The annual Emerald CEEMAN competition is now open for submissions. For more information and details on how submit please see here.
The 2020 Emerald/AABS case competition is also open. There is a webinar with helpful advice from Dr Michael Goldman and past winner Claire Barnardo, available here. For more information on the competition and details on how to submit, see the AABS page here.

Emerging Markets Case Studies

We are proud to announce EMCS has had another great year and published another 100 high quality case studies and teaching notes in 2019.

As well as these cases EMCS also published 20 Spanish language cases and 11 short cases this year. Unlike traditional 8-10-page case study narratives, short cases are between 2,000 and 3,000 words, can be read in 15 minutes; allowing an immediate classroom discussion around a single theme. Short cases include less data, background information, and exhibits, and are more focused on analysis in the classroom. Short cases develop a central protagonist facing a compelling management dilemma and contain a substantial teaching note, following the standard EMCS format for classroom use.

Scopus Update

As you may know, Emerging Markets Case Studies and The CASE Journal were accepted into Scopus in July. We’re delighted to have been added and expect it to be indexed in Scopus in the beginning of the year. This endorsement of our quality of our content is an important step in cases being acknowledged as a valuable academic contribution.

The CASE Journal

TCJ published 35 case studies and articles on case writing in 2019. Emerald continues to pay members of The CASE association $100 upon publication of their case in TCJ. If the corresponding author is a member of the CASE Association at the time of publication, the corresponding author will be contacted and is eligible for a payment of $100 from Emerald at the end of the calendar year.
