On November 19, 2020, Narxoz Law and Public Policy, along with its partners Ernst & Young and Lincoln Conferences, organized the second annual international conference on transnational business law - ‘ERASING BORDERS’.

Dr. Stanislav Buyanskiy, the then Dean of Narxoz Law and Public Policy and now Acting-Rector of the Narxoz University, was the main pioneer of the Narxoz Law conference series. He envisioned creating an international forum for legal and business practitioners and academicians to come together to deliberate the contemporary trends in transnational business laws in a quest to create better transparency, productivity and awareness between countries.

This year’s conference panels were graced by experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, the U.S.A., the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Ukraine, and the Philippines. With over 500+ participants from around the world, the annual conference has now become a global platform for discussing strategic decisions in the field of transnational business law.

The following were the main panels and topics of discussion:

The speakers discussed in detail the latest trends and development in the e-commerce market, with special focus on its ever growing momentum due to the pandemic. They shared their personal experiences and made recommendations for companies and law firms to take into account while executing their work model. Hot topics such as ‘can/will technology replace lawyers as a whole’, and ‘how AI in the legal field will be regulated and developed in the future’, were discussed in great length. The panelists emphasized the importance of high-quality legal support for businesses when working at an international level in making decisions regarding entering different markets, and minimizing risks associated with cross-border transactions - including the usage of ADR methods to protect company interests globally. The conference ended with an online networking event where participants and speakers connected and shared their thoughts on the topics.

Narxoz University is grateful to all the speakers and participants for making the event a successful one and for joining us on our quest to erase borders!
