There are four Swiss business schools that made the top 200 MBA ranking among more than 12’000 business schools worldwide in the QS Global 200 Business Schools Report 2014-15, released end of November. Among them, on a country level, IMD ranks #1, University of St. Gallen #2, Business School Lausanne (BSL) #3, and University of Geneva’s International Organizations MBA is newly listed in this ranking as #4 in Switzerland.
With only 65 European schools selected in the top 200 ranking, Switzerland is represented with four internationally recognized business schools ranked among their European and global peers. The Swiss schools’ ranking in Europe is as following: IMD #8, University of St. Gallen #15, Business School Lausanne #28, and University of Geneva #53.
The overall positioning of Switzerland has improved with Business School Lausanne moving forward from 48th to 28th place in this year’s ranking and with University of Geneva making it to the ranking with their International Organizations MBA (IOMBA) for the first time. In Europe, Business School Lausanne is one of only four schools that have scored a remarkable progress by gaining at least 20 spots or more.
The QS ranking provides an indication of the employability of an MBA upon graduation. This year’s survey is based on the input of 5,669 international employers who actively recruit MBA graduates. New to this year, the report now includes a second measure: academic reputation. Based on a global survey of top faculty with expertise in business and management, the new measure identifies those business schools with the
best worldwide reputation for cutting-edge research, an expertise that informs teaching, curricula, and many other aspects of those programs.
The QS Global 200 Business Schools Report 2014-15 consists of 90 schools in North America, 65 schools in Europe, 30 schools in Asia-Pacific, 10 schools in Latin America, and 5 schools in Middle East and Africa.
