The discussion was moderated by Director of Strategic Projects & Innovation at AMBA George Iliev. During the conference, a number of important questions were discussed: the advancement of DBA in the next 5 years, DBA as an alternative to PhD degree, new areas of the DBA thesis research, effective DBA thesis supervision.

Participants shared their experience and highlighted the importance of raising the number of DBA researches on Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development. Another essential focus area is to encourage the Social Impact of the DBA students and alumni.
AMBA CEO Andrew Main Wilson joined the event to congratulate GSCM and to present the results of the AMBA DBA Impact Prize. The competition is held annually by AMBA to encourage the DBA theses with the highest Social Impact. The judging panel considered applications from the AMBA-accredited business schools and chose the three winners. The winners represent Aston Business School (UK), Cranfield School of Management (UK), and GSCM RANEPA (Russia).
The GSCM winner is Evgeniya Ludupova, DBA graduate of 2017. She is the Minister of Health of the Buryatiya Republic and a WHO expert. Having a large medical experience, she started her career as a general practitioner moving on to the Chief Doctor of the Republican Clinical Hospital. Along with growing her medical skills, Evgeniya developed as a manager, receiving a degree in Enterprise Management and later her DBA.

The DBA thesis in Complex system of quality management in healthcare on the example of a multidisciplinary clinic was supervised by Professor Abel Aganbegyan, Member of Russian Academy of Sciences and GSCM DBA Academic Director. In her thesis, Evgeniya suggested an integrated model of the implementation of a quality management system, highlighting a work with the human resources, and the decrease in disease and mortality rates that followed.
