MIM students took part in a field session to Zakarpattia region, where they explored local companies’ best practices and learned how regional businesses sustain growth amid wartime challenges. The visit combined academic learning with real-life examples of resilience, innovation, and community leadership in Western Ukraine.

In September, MIM Business School’s SE MBA students embarked on a field session across Zakarpattia region. The module aimed to connect academic learning with real business cases, offering participants a direct look at how Ukrainian companies operate and grow amid wartime challenges and rapid regional transformations.

Participants visited three enterprises representing different management models and business philosophies.

The first visit took place at Kochut, a family-run company founded by three brothers and internationally recognized for its handcrafted jewelry and furniture. The second stop was Jabil, one of the global leaders in electronics manufacturing and supply-chain management. With over 50 years of experience, operations in more than 30 countries, and collaborations with leading global brands, Jabil implements advanced technologies such as 3D printing, digital modeling, IoT, robotics, and Lean Six Sigma. The final visit was to Krayna, a Ukrainian premium mineral-water brand.

Students also had the opportunity to visit the Zakarapattia branch of the Board - a community of Ukrainian business owners, which connects entrepreneurs and supports business development and cooperation. Participants discussed the ongoing challenges that Ukrainian businesses face during wartime.

The experiential format of this module allowed the students of MIM Business School to explore the specifics of doing business in a border region of Ukraine, learn successful practices of adaptation and growth under the conditions of war and regional transformation, and significantly expand their professional experience.

This field session carries particular importance for Ukraine today. By witnessing how businesses continue to innovate, create jobs, and maintain stability during crises, MIM’s students gain a deeper understanding of resilience as a cornerstone of national recovery. For MIM Business School, such initiatives strengthen its educational mission - developing leaders who can transform challenges into opportunities and contribute to rebuilding a stronger, more sustainable Ukrainian economy.
