he Board of ISM University of Management and Economics appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa president of the university for a second four-year term. Dr. Pačėsa has been working for ISM since 2002 and has been heading the university as of July 2008.

We strengthened our cooperation with the business sector, expanded the available study funding opportunities, and consolidated the team of teachers and researchers. All of it helped us attract the most gifted young people in the country. According to this year’s university ratings published in the weekly Veidas, students and employers view us as being the best. Now that we introduced a new quality management system, one of our priority goals is to obtain the EQUIS accreditation, which is one of the most important accreditations for a business school" - Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa, president of ISM University of Management and Economics, said.
With Nerijus Pačėsa acting as president, ISM ended high up in the international business university rating for three consecutive years and currently is among the three hundred strongest business universities in the world. Last year the university launched a new study funding programme ISM Excellent 100 that is partially financed by local business entities. Moreover, last year ISM started upgrading its quality management system and for that purpose attracted LTL 1.5 million from the EU structural funds. Both teachers, administrative staff, students, graduates and employers participated in the process of upgrading the university's quality management system.

Associate Professor, Doctor of Social Sciences Nerijus Pačėsa specializes in strategic management, leadership and entrepreneurship. Dr. Pačėsa obtained his PhD at Vytautas Magnus University and continued to further upgrade his competence by participating at international trainings and conferences. Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa published a number of scientific articles on business-, science- and knowledge management-related subjects. He acted as expert in developing the National Long-term Economic Development Strategy, and as a consultant and manager in conducting a number of business, scientific research, feasibility and development studies. Prior to becoming president, Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa acted as head of a business company and headed Kaunas Regional Development Agency.
The ISM president is a member of several professional organizations, Vice Chairman of the board of American Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Lithuanian State Studies Foundation, and member of the National Advancement Council.
