Program in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Globaol Leadership (PIEGL) is a two-year full-time English-taught master program in School of Management, Zhejiang University. Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university. Founded in 1897, it was one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. The University is located in the city of Hangzhou, where is renowed by its marvelous landscapes and vibrant urban life. Its West Lake is a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site and New York Times world’s top places to go. The city is also famous for the sprits of entrepreneurship. It held the G-20 Hangzhou Summit in 2016, and all leaders reached consensus that it is improtant to take innovation as a key driver and foster new driving force of growth for the global economy.
The economic growth is now occurring mostly in emerging markets, and today’s global challengers-fast-growing, fast-globalizing companies-are from emerging markets, such as Alibab from Hangzhou China. These trends and characteristics provide a new set of opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors in both the developed and developing worlds.
The PIEGL was lanched in the year of 2017. So far, the program has recruited 73 excellent international students from 40 different countries worldwide. Graduates are awarded a Master of Enterprise Management degree upon fulfilled all requirements prescribed by the Zhejiang University. The program is academically rigorous whilst incotoporating strong pratical elements through enriched student learning and expriential education, and is aiming to provide students opportunities to make career transition. It pleaces great emphasis on global leadership by integrating the essence of innovation management and entrepreneurship. Besides, it provides students dynamic campus activities as well as opportunities to go overseas for competitions, study tours and conferences.
The PIEGL program is now open for the 4th cohort application till 20 April 2020.
