The School of Business Administration (SBA) of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) was originally named the Department of Industrial Economics in 1979. It was granted the right to confer a master degree in 1986, and renamed as SBA in 1998. In 2010, the school was authorized to confer a doctorate degree in the first-level discipline. In 2014, the school was awarded the National Advanced Group of the Educational System. It got CAMEA certification in 2017, joined the membership of Business Graduates Association (BGA) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2019, the membership of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in 2020, the membership of Asia Academy of Management (AAOM), Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) and The China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance (CATEA) in 2021, and the membership of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in 2022. In 2022, it received accreditation from BGA.
With development of four decades, the school has formed a talent cultivation system at all levels of bachelor, master, and doctor (post-doctoral), and has trained nearly 40,000 talents of all kinds for the country. Moreover, it has achieved fruitful results and outstanding achievements in the aspects of discipline development, talent training, faculty team construction and international education collaboration.
The school has formed a teaching and scientific research team with reasonable age structure and professional title structure, having rich teaching experience and strong scientific research ability. The school currently has 130 faculty members, including 105 full-time teachers, 64 professors and associate professors, 25 doctoral supervisors, and 82 master supervisors. The doctorate rate of teachers is 85%, and the proportion of teachers who have overseas study and exchange experience reaches 60%.
The school has a master’s program, a doctoral program and a post-doctoral research station in the first-level discipline of Business Administration. It has the only interdisciplinary doctoral program (digital science and management engineering) in JUFE. The school is among the third batch of MBA training institutions in China and the first in Jiangxi province. It is also among the second batch of EMBA training institutions over the nation and the only one in Jiangxi province. The school has been included in the annual Top 50 Best MBA Programs of China Business Schools for five consecutive years (2019-2023). It consists of Institute of China Management Thought; Research Center for Specialization, Refinement, Differentiation, Innovation of Enterprises; Tourism Development Research Institute and other research institutions. It is the first member unit of the Pilot Jiangxi think tank in Jiangxi Province and the first BGA-accredited business school in the mainland of China, and the first (only) school in JUFE that obtains international business accreditation. The school won the AACSB Innovations That Inspire Award (the third award-winning university in the country) in 2023.
The membership in CEEMAN is expected to further enhance SBA's global network, providing more opportunities for international educational collaboration and research. This alignment with CEEMAN underscores SBA's enduring commitment to fostering global business leaders and innovators capable of navigating the complexities of dynamic economic landscapes.
