KROK Business School joined the initiative "Entrepreneurship University" for development of startup culture in Ukrainian universities and the entrepreneurial skills of students and teachers. This significantly expands the opportunities for students for professional development, as well as gives them the option of creating their own startup.

The development of startup culture in Ukrainian universities and the entrepreneurial skills of students and teachers is a critical component of creating an effective ecosystem for the development of innovative entrepreneurship in Ukraine. It is very important for young entrepreneurs to start gaining such experience and skills as early as possible. Consequently, the period of study at the university, when students are not burdened with additional responsibilities, have space for working with a team, have easy access to the intellectual resources of the university, is the safest for the first attempts at innovative entrepreneurship.

In this regard, KROK Business School in September 2020 joined the initiative "Entrepreneurship University", proposed by the Youth Entrepreneurial Partnership Platform (YEP) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Diya.Business Entrepreneurs Support Center. This project aims to create an entrepreneurial movement in Ukraine, i.e. universities with a strong business culture and startup infrastructure.

At the KROK Business School the Entrepreneurship University project was implemented in the courses "Innovation Management" and "Investment Management" for students of the Master of Global Business Management Program (MGBM). It is important for all students to acquire skills in working on their own projects, especially for students from Nigeria, Congo, Turkey, India, UAE, Ethiopia, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, who study at this program at the KROK Business School.

As a result of study, students gain skills (ability):

  • to understand the basic principles of Startup Ecosystem;
  • to form a startup team and distribute roles in it;
  • to come up with the idea of a startup;
  • of Creative Thinking and Design Thinking;
  • to develop a Sustainable Business Model of a startup;
  • to create MVP & Customer Journey Map;
  • to prepare Pitch Deck.

The introduction of the latest teaching methods into MBGM courses of the KROK Business School in partnership with YEP allows to guarantee the quality of teaching and support the qualification of teachers. Besides, this significantly expands the opportunities for students for professional development, as well as gives them the option of creating their own company both in their home countries and in Ukraine, while still studying at university.

Upon completion of the MBGM Program, students will be able to continue developing their projects under the YEP incubation or pre-acceleration program and other partner accelerators. Students will be able to easily and without risk try themselves in business, feel part of the startup ecosystem and prepare their startup for the stage of entering the market or finding the first investments.
