“We are giving the best Polish business university in the hands of probably the youngest rector in Poland. This is a sign of the changing times and the direction that Western universities have taken. In my opinion, due to the issues dealt with by the rector-elect and his business experience, it is a right and forward-looking decision”, said Prof. Andrzej Koźmiński, explaining the choice of the Board.

“We have strong foundations, which consist of the organizational culture, work ethics and strong brand of the university. Now we need a generational change that will ensure a modern approach to research, education and strengthen our position on the international market. Professor Grzegorz Mazurek meets all the prerequisites to become an excellent rector for new times after the coronavirus” says Professor Witold T. Bielecki, retiring from the position of KU's rector after 9 years, who has been associated with the university from its very beginning.

The Board of Trustees thanked rector Bielecki for two successful terms with the words: "He made Kozminski University antifragile", which means that he also prepared it well for the current COVID-19 crisis. The university works online from the first day of isolation. All classes, thesis defences and academic events are organized remotely. The University is also widely involved in social and charitable activities. The first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year is planned to be "online ready", although we all hope that classes will be able to take place within the walls of the university.

Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek, Ph. D., as the rector of ALK, will manage a community of more than 10,000 people, 9,000 of whom are bachelor, master, postgraduate and doctoral students. “I consider the appointment to the position of Rector of the Kozminski University and the wide support of its community for my candidacy as a great honor and expression of trust in the proposed vision of building a modern university, which understands the modern world and is responsible for the development of its students. The University, which through its position on the international arena, innovative study programs, world-class research and close cooperation with the institutional and economic environment has a real impact on reality. In my vision, Kozminski is an exceptional university for exceptional times” says Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek.
