For the past 2 years, the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM) at Riga Technical University (RTU) has been taking part in the Erasmus+ project Massive Open Online Week for Collaborative Digital Education (MOOW CODE), aimed at promoting sustainable digital education and enhancing mental well-being within the higher education community.

MOOW CODE is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to promoting the longevity of digital education by developing practical solutions and fostering a deeper understanding of sustainability within higher education and society. The central focus of the project has been exploring more effective ways to impart new knowledge to students.

The initiative has been bringing together students, experts, and educators, providing them with opportunities to gain new insights and experiences. Collaboratively, they generated innovative ideas and created new products centered around two critical themes: mental health on campus and sustainability in higher education.

As part of MOOW CODE, students participated in two week-long Digital Bootcamps held in Latvia, Poland, and Italy. During these bootcamps, more than 30 groups worked together to develop new initiatives and solutions. Additionally, the project offered training for teachers in higher education institutions, equipping them with modern teaching methods designed to help students develop essential skills for thriving in a digital learning environment.

MOOW CODE is a forward-looking and impact-oriented project that aims to develop and promote MOOW. This multifaceted, synergistic format of digital learning and co-creation is designed to enhance educational experience in higher education, ensuring its sustainability and effectiveness for the future.

Launched on January 1, 2022, RTU FEEM has collaborated with the University of Economics in Katowice, the project leader, alongside partners such as the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), the European E-learning Institute (EUEI), and the University of Naples Federico II. The project is set to conclude on December 31, 2024.
